What's valuable is the authenticity of these large-scale adultery-catching scenes: real-life accounts of catching adulterers in the street, stripping them, and beating up the mistress. I think the most impressive, and also the most tragic, is the scene where Old Wang next door, even if he didn't die from the fall, would at least break a bone.
